The Liquid Business Process Model

Besides the economic crisis, one of the reasons that led many companies to fail, in recent years, is due to a protectionist attitude on the part of enterprises. A modus operandi of this type inevitably creates obstacles against any possibility of evolution and need for change.

Finding ourselves in an era particularly rich in uncertainties and changes, especially in the business world, a degree of flexibility is required to companies. On one side this means protection for the company itself, but on the other it can be an important stepping stone towards the growth and the future.

After Marketing 3.0 and Industry 4.0 it is necessary to talk about a new organization model defined “liquid company.” Often, in the economic and business environment, the liquid adjective indicates a substantial circulation of money. About liquid company, however, the emphasis must be on the “physical” meaning of the word; in fact, this type of organization assumes, as does a liquid in the container in which it is poured, a company must do the same, in relation to its surroundings. This means that it is a model that assumes the adaptation and not a protectionist attitude as before.

There are two main characteristics of Liquid Business Process Model:

  • Working in an environment that knows how to positively embrace new ideas
  • Recruit staff that represents added value for the company.

This type of organization is the result of a much broader discussion, or rather a business model that sociologists, psychologists, politicians and economists have called “The liquid modern society.” It is a type of society, which is the present one, that changes continuously and it does not allow individuals to create their own long-term habits. The same dynamic is repeated in the enterprise: you can no longer rely on the past and you must continually get involved in new experiences.

What is needed to create a Liquid Business Process Model?

The more functional peculiarities of modern business is the ability to eliminate rather that to acquire. That on which a company must be based is the knowledge of the laws governing the world of work, where law is not something bureaucratic, but the dynamics that lead to continuous changes. To know how to project a new scenario means, essentially, to ahead of the competition and to grow more quickly.

Of course, the issue of business management is a bit more complex compared to social life in general. This is because a company has the results to be achieved. Consequently, it is possible to identify three key factors by which a business can turn into a liquid company:

  • Staff: the skills, knowledge and approach of everyone working within the company must be aimed at achieving a certain flexibility as a first objective, and to know how to prepare the changes like benefit of production, the second goal.
  • The organization: a company ready to modern society must be organized in a coherent, strategic plans with marked innovation and cohesion.
  • Relations: communication is the key to success, today. A business must be able to build its network of relationships both with the market and with its customers (with an eye to potential ones).
